Omg, my mom is eating Cheetos and and the smell is filling the room and driving me crazy. I am now planning in my head what I will eat when I am done next Friday. Well, Saturday is for OJ and then Sunday is broth & more juice. I have to check on that.

M- seems tired today. He keeps joking about going out to dinner. Grrr…

Less tired than yesterday, more so than usual, however. I took a nap around 1pm for an hour and then woke up naturally. I guess that’s all I needed. I’m glad I’m not going into an office for work right now. My clients don’t know about the naps I have been taking. THAT would be tough!

I wonder how M- is doing at work. He said he was tired too and probably more so, since its his first day doing the lemon diet. I am so excited to go back home to my apt! No more delicious aroma of cooking and people talking about food all day long. I had not realized how much food is a part of the family. Even my brother was cooking today- and pesto (which I love!)

It will probably be hard to start eating such heavy foods again. I’m going to find some raw food recipes when I have some free time. It’ll be nice to look forward to cooking something (er, something uncooked rather.) I seems one can eat all the same kinds of food, only using different preparation methods and ingredients. This is going to make things complicated when I have to meet clients or friends for dinner/drinks. Hm… I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

More than halfway through the second day and I am pretty much the same. I feel lighter, weaker and more tired than usual. That’s about it. My tongue is slightly more white, but nothing to get excited over. I hope the detox is working. I don’t want to be drinking all this salt for no reason!

I feel more energetic than yesterday and happier, too. Maybe the first day is actually the hardest one (although I have read that, actually, days 2, 3 & 7 are most difficult.) I had the salt today with cold water and tried two things that made the awful, awful mixture somewhat tolerable.

  • drinking the salt water with a straw
  • counting the gulps and trying to do them fast w/out tasting

The salt water worked faster this time. I think because I drank it so fast. M- told me to try having it within 5-10 min., instead of taking an hour or so to finish it all.

Thursday, 9 August 2007 (1:25am)

I just awake from my nap about an hour ago (which began around 6pm.) I had not anticipated the exhaustion which has overcome me pretty much throughout the day. When I awoke, though, my brother said I looked so well-rested. Well, it was about six hours that I had slept for. I had my 6th glass of lemon drink upon waking. Still hungry. I walked into the other room to talk with my dad. He asked if I am hungry. I am definitely going back to the city tomorrow- can’t deal with all the talk of food or looking at the brownies I made the other day that are sitting on the oven still. Grrr…

I’m going to have some tea in a bit and go back to bed. I hope my energy will come back tomorrow. I am usually a very energetic person but this thing is wearing me down.

M- is starting his lemon diet again, this time with the agave syrup. I hope it works out for him. I’m really looking forward to having someone else to talk to who is also drinking lemons & salt!
